1. I perform at all of the required games, but I did not attend the volunteer. I only went to the required because at the end of the day I was tired just wanted to get my homework done and go to bed. I like pep band, but I was tired and didnt feel like going. For pep band I feel like my letter grade should be a B. I attended all the required pep bands. Though I didn't go to the volunteer so I dont think it should be an A. 2. Pep band is an important element of pep band. It expands our skills, and gives us an opportunity to play infront of other people. It also helps the band to bond as a whole. And of course, it is fun to go to the games and play. 3. My top three songs are crazy train, best of queen, and seven nation. I love crazy train because the begining is awesome. Also I like it because the flutes dont have so high of notes. Like I can play them, but I dont like the way they sound. Best of queen, I like because it cool that the flutes have just the stomp, stomp, and clap for the first song. They are also songs that I know so its cool to play a song that I really know. Last but not least is seven nation. It an easy sound that sounds cool. I like the notes and the little like drops at the end of the notes. My three least favorite songs are wipe out, Lady Gaga, and star spangled banner. I'm not very good at the runs with wipe out. Same with lady gaga I can't do some of the runs. The star spangled banner though is slow, and like I know that song really well. 4.Honestly the song I improved most on is wipe out. The whole song when we went over it really slow to get the runs. I'm still not the best at it but I can kind of do some of the runs compared to before when I couldnt do any of it. 5. A good pep band song would be get ready for this, 2 unlimited.
Smart Music (Scales): I got a 87% on all my scales for the smart music. I know what the key signature is for all of them. I also know how to play the notes. It really just comes down to play it and remembering what is sharp, flat, or natural when playing.
Concert Music: Throughout Rejoice the season, it has concert B flat. It doesn't look too bad, but measures 12-23 look a little hard since is high d and e and sixteenth notes. The same for 104-107 and 117-121. It also looks very fast and high energy. The first go there, I did not play it 100 percent through. I got lost for 12-23. I couldn't make the high notes that quickly. 80 and so on, I need to make sure I'm tuned good for that. 24 I got the hang off it. Thankfully How The Grinch Stole Christmas Concert Medley is also concert b flat throughout with a few accidentals that I need to watch out for. Also measure 76 looks a little hard, because of the flipped notes. I don't know how to even play measure 38. With the little notes and the ties. Once In Royal David's City starts with E flat key signature, then goes to F, finally into concert B flat. So I'm going to have to keep an eye on the the key signature. Alot of ties throughout the music. Also sixteenth notes, with not too sure on the counting. Christmas Eve/Sarajevo 12/24 just looks hard. The notes go so low, so not too sure of some of the notes. 159-166 looks horrible with the triplets.
Minor/Major: The sixth note (the la note) in the major scale is the first note of the minor relative. The key signature stays the same too. Like g minor is the relative of concert B flat. g minor also keeps the same key signature as concert B flat, which has two flats.Major E flat has three flats and c minor is the relative. F major is the last one learned which has one flat and the relative minor is d. Little Extra Bit: Flutes do not transpose. :)
9/11: The performance was better than I thought it was going to be. This was my first time, but what I heard from last year it was not good. So I didn't know how it was going to go. It was good, but the last song, America the beautiful could have been better. I don't know what if other people could hear the chour, but I couldn't. I wish that that could have been better for America the beautiful. The others I thought were great.
Baseline Smartmusic: My score was 42%.
Entry 1: The pretest was a little hard. After not being in band for a year and a half, I've forgotten my scales. I know concert B flat scale, and some others like E flat if I saw them. Other than that I can't remember them. So I need to work on that. Which was one of my goals. Along with counting, which I suck at. Along with some of the music terms like staccato and the other ones that I can't think of. Hopefully going through this information again will help me remember, cause I know we went through this in Jr. High. Though I do know my flats and sharps the order of them and how to play them.
